1967 Fender Bassman head and 2x12 cab just into the shop!

While they still shine as a true bass guitar amp, their use in electric 6-string guitar has made them immensely popular, and a tremendous value in the vintage Fender world. This late Blackface Era Bassman just got back from its first doctor's appointment in many years, and is still putting out the classic 50-watt Fender tone it's been known for since its earliest days.

The amp has seemingly been paired with the same 1965 cabinet for decades, as evidenced by the old matching freight tags on their respective exteriors. There's also the band name 'The Bangs' stenciled on the bottom of the speaker cabinet. Could it have been owned by The Bangles before their name change? Maybe! Either way, we love seeing some good old fashioned band marketing at play, which gives us more history on where this amp has traveled and just adds to the vintage vibe! This Bassman's got a small mod by way of the phono jack added on the back panel and some corresponding tube identifiers scratched into the chassis, but the circuit is the proper AB165 spec, with all original transformers throughout. The tube chart is stamped 'QC', denoting March 1967 completion. Tolex and grill cloth is original on both the head and cabinet. We've installed two period correct sphinx glides on the cab (it was missing a pair when it came in), and elected to leave the Fender badge in its relocated spot (clearly showing it was used vertically).

Whether you need a great vintage bass rig or want big, powerful cleans and headroom for your six string, the Bassman can deliver.

**Please Note: All vintage amplifiers - regardless of service history - contain electronic components that will eventually require replacement or repair. This is often unpredictable and should be expected as a vintage amplifier owner. We are not responsible for additional service upon receipt.**
