A faithful recreation of Fender's 6G3 brown-panel Deluxe: 20 watts of warm, woody clean and overdrive with lush tube-bias tremolo, ideal for recording and smaller rooms.

The "brown panel" Fenders of the early '60s occupy a specific and often overlooked spot in the company's history. They sit between the raw, midrange-forward bark of the '50s tweed amps and the scooped, sparkling cleans of the mid-'60s blackface circuits, and they don't sound quite like either. That in-between voice, warm and woody with a low-end that stays round, is exactly why players who find these originals tend to hang onto them.

The '62 Deluxe is a faithful recreation of the 6G3 circuit, and it captures what makes those amps worth chasing. At lower volumes it's all warmth and body, the kind of clean that sits well under a vocal or fills out a rhythm part. Push it and it moves into a woody, musical overdrive rather than a harsh clip, so it stays useful as you turn up. The star of the circuit is the tube-bias tremolo, a lush, throbbing effect that's noticeably richer and more dimensional than the later opto-based designs, and reason enough on its own to want one of these around.

Two 6V6 output tubes put out 20 watts through a custom Celestion 12", which lands it right in the sweet spot for home recording and smaller rooms: enough to move air and reach breakup at a manageable volume, without being so loud you can never get there. It's dressed the part too, brown Nubtex covering, wheat grille cloth, and a brown leather handle, and it ships with a matching fitted cover and vintage-style single-button footswitch for the tremolo.

For Fender players and collectors after that brown-panel voice without hunting down a sixty-year-old original, this is the amp.
