Fender 5A3 Deluxe (1951)
Vintage
Simple yet effective and highly interactive volume and tone controls cover a tremendous amount of range - go from glassy low volume cleans to singing power tube break up and overdrive with a quick tweak of the knobs. The Jensen P12R sounds great and complements the circuit wonderfully with some vintage alnico compression and a woody and bright top end. This amp has been recently serviced by local amp tech Stan Day and is outfitted with a 1960s Princeton output transformer and a 3-prong power cord for safety, along with a recap in the power section. The tweed covering is in good shape for its age, too.
Early Tweed tones in a compact and lightweight cabinet don't get much better than this!
