The Fairbanks 1934 Jumbo is a bit more lightly built & braced than, say, one of his F-35 models, making it the Fairbanks dreadnought-style guitar with the easiest response and most robust low end.
It's been a while since we've had a Fairbanks 1934 Jumbo in the shop. Our mistake! This guitar, based on Gibson's legendary first incantation of the slope-shouldered dreadnought, is lightweight, loud, open, and chunky-sounding ~ just like the instrument on which it's based! True to spec, the Fairbanks 1934 Jumbo is a bit more lightly built & braced than, say, one of his F-35 models, making it the Fairbanks dreadnought-style guitar with the easiest response and most robust low end. It excels when strummed & flatpicked, yet it's constructed in such a fashion that coaxing those Jackson Brown, Roy-Smeck-inspired tones is easy as well. A dynamite entrant in the slope-shouldered category!
