Just in on consignment, a wide nut variant of the lauded Collings MF5 mandolin! This 2008 build sports a beautiful, one-piece eastern flamed maple back, wide grain red spruce top, and gold hardware for a slightly elevated take on the classic F5 look. Years of play have lent this instrument a slightly woodier and more open voice; the sound is powerful, with excellent projection and clear, articulate note-to-note separation.

Condition is consistent with a well-loved instrument that has been taken care of over the years. A few dings and scratches are scattered about the top, and there is one notable ding on the back of the neck behind the 7th fret, although it is not noticeable when playing. Overall, an excellent choice for anyone looking for a solid, workhorse instrument that will excel in any setting.
