The 620 SM LC takes Collings’ beloved Statesman LC to new heights, leaning even further into its Gretsch 6120 lineage while carving out its own identity.
With a deeper body and trestle block construction, the new hollow-body 620 refines and expands upon its predecessor’s design, delivering enhanced resonance and responsiveness.
Aesthetically, the 620 is a knockout—but the real magic happens when you pick it up. Every hallmark of Collings' legendary craftsmanship is here: impeccable build quality, meticulous detail, and effortless playability. Yet, the 620 SM LC introduces something distinctly fresh—a softer, more forgiving feel that makes it an incredibly expressive and inviting instrument. If this is a glimpse into Collings’ future, we’re all in.
Powering this evolution is a revelation in tone: Righteous Sound Diadem pickups. A new discovery for us, these pickups strike an exceptional balance—clear and vibrant in the highs, tight and focused in the lows, with an open, articulate midrange. The neck pickup, a vintage-spec Staple P90, is wound with plain enamel wire for a smooth, glassy clarity. The bridge pickup blends elements of ‘70s Wide Range and Staple P90 designs, resulting in a dynamic, hybrid voice that’s both familiar and refreshingly unique.

Brand Story
"Every day we try to make a better guitar, every day. You're trying to reach for more, trying to do better, not trying to do the same. A lot of companies are trying to do the same, and that's okay - that's their deal. We're trying to stretch that. Our goal is a little more."
