Love the response and attack of a Tele with the comfort and versatility of a Strat? How about a Hardtail Strat, and an absolute Gold Medal winner example at that!

In the world of vintage Stratocasters, hardtail versions have always been in the runner up position. We get it. All of our Strat heroes play tremolo models, and it's essentially the standard by which all Strats and Strat-like guitars are measured. But those folks who get deep into the vintage world know that hardtails are some of the very best examples of ANY Strat, regardless of bridge design.

To further support this take, this early '63 we just took in on consignment will leave you completely taken aback. Near featherweight, incredibly clean, and built in one of the most celebrated years for the Stratocaster in its rich history.

The guitar looks like it spent 62.5 of its 63 years on the planet in a case, for one. It's unbelievably clean. Notice how vibrant and unfaded the 3-Tone Sunburst finish is?!? What about the lacquer on the neck? Or the condition of the original celluloid nitrate pickguard and corresponding plastics? "Clean guitars don't sound as good as worn ones". Well, this hardtail needs someone to hold its beer.

It's super lively and resonant, with amazing feel and that stout tele-like attack we referenced a few words back. The pickups are just sublime sounding, too. I mean, what else could you possibly want this thing to do??? (don't say "grow a wiggle stick").

In all seriousness, a great vintage hardtail Strat doesn't just spring onto the market every day. It's only the second one we've had in here from the 50s or 60s, and we want more!

Paired with an era-correct Brown hardshell case (case lining imprints suggest it was previously paired with a tremolo Strat). Expedited shipping required.
Condition: Vintage. Fully inspected and set up by TME staff before it ships or leaves the showroom.
