Product information

Fender's Tweed Bassman has rightfully earned a spot on the Mount Rushmore of 20th Century guitar tube amplifier design. Higher powered for its time, but now perfectly settled into one of the most desired mid-powered amplifiers ever produced, it offers the player a certain tone and feel that hasn't quite been matched in this format to date.

1960 Fender 5F6-A Bassman just in!

It's been some time since we've had a Tweed Bassman in the shop, and boy did we miss the sound of these amps! There's just nothing like it out there.

This a late '60 build with a December 1960 tube chart stamp and original transformers throughout. It has clearly seen some action over there years as evidenced by the natural wear of the original tweed covering and reconed vintage Jensen P10Q speakers. Still, it retains that unmistakable hifi voice and power, with incredible harmonically rich tube breakup and a touch sensitivity that great Tweeds like this are known for.

The amp has just been serviced by Stan Day, which included a stealth recap and replacement of the power tubes. It had previously been outfitted with corner protectors of which a few had been removed. One of the RCA speaker jacks has been replaced. Internal baffle support strips were added long ago, and two small ports were drilled through the original baffle (as can be seen through the grill cloth in the photos).

The cabinet and back panels are original and have their original tweed covering. The amp also includes its original Victoria slipcover in good/fair condition.

**Please Note: All vintage amplifiers - regardless of service history - contain electronic components that will eventually require replacement or repair. This is often unpredictable and should be expected as a vintage amplifier owner. We are not responsible for additional service upon receipt. We also do not guarantee tube life.**
