PRS S2 Vela Aged White (USED, 2021)
S-Style · Humbuckers Pickups · Used
PRS's first offset: all-mahogany build, a DS-01/Type-D pickup pairing with coil-splitting, and the reliability the brand is known for, in a fresh shape.
The S2 Vela is PRS's first offset, and it wears the shape well: elegant lines with an edge to them. Underneath the fresh aesthetic is the build quality and consistency PRS is known for, so what you're getting is a genuinely new look without giving up the reliability you'd expect from the brand.Construction is all mahogany, body and neck, carved to PRS's Pattern Regular profile with a 22-fret rosewood fretboard and dot inlays. The 25" scale sits between Fender and Gibson territory, giving you a bit more string tension and clarity than a Gibson scale without going full Fender snap. PRS Low Mass locking tuners keep restrings quick and tuning stable, and the whole thing wears a nitro finish that breathes and ages the way players who care about that sort of thing want it to. The pickups are PRS-designed and voiced for clarity. A DS-01 humbucker sits in the bridge, a Type-D single coil in the neck, and a three-way toggle moves between them. Together they give the Vela a bright, punchy character that holds up whether you run it into a loaded pedalboard or straight into the front of an amp. The tone control is push/pull: pull it and the DS-01 splits to single coil, opening up a set of thinner, more spanky voices alongside the fuller humbucker tones.
The PRS plate-style bridge carries two brass saddles chosen for sustain and stable intonation, so notes stay in tune and ring out evenly from the open position up to the top of the neck. Rhythm parts stay tight, leads stay singing.
In the studio or on stage, this is a guitar you'll reach for.
