The Gary Rossington Les Paul almost single-handedly paved the way for the aged Gibson world.

The Gibson Custom Shop Gary Rossington 1959 Les Paul Standard is one of the more revered (and limited) artist models ever offered by Gibson. Built in the early days of the Custom Shop in 2002 and limited to just 250 builds, this Rossington LP captures the vibe of Gary's original '59 in convincing fashion, with an expertly executed aged finish by legend Tom Murphy to boot. Fun fact: This was the very first model to receive an aged finish from the Custom Shop!

The figured Maple top and one-piece Mahogany body are stunning examples of the great tonewoods that were used on this run. The top on this one is insane! This is a MONSTER sounding and playing guitar - authoritative and punchy with fantastic definition. A wonderfully full C carve that represents the feel of a great old '58 LP.

We also think that the top on this guitar looks a lot like the original '59 Burst (SN 9 0435) we had in the shop a while back, with a beautiful and unique mix of light/mild flame and flatsawn ripple. The guitar was purchased brand new by its consignor, and has remained entirely original throughout, including all hardware and the original '57 Classic humbuckers. It includes the original early style Gibson Lifton hardshell case, COA, case candy, and rare display case along with the "Grease Monkey" shirt originally included with the sale.

This is one of those rare instances where you have an ironclad collector's piece that also happens to be one of the best sounding, playing, and looking LPs of the modern era.

**NOTE: The display case will ship in a separate box. Please contact us for total shipping costs.**
