Incorporating Taylor's newly redesigned scalloped V-Class bracing, the 714ce features a Cedar Top rather than the classic Rosewood/Spruce pairing - giving it a distinctive voice and character.Players can expect a warmer voice that balances rosewood’s natural overtone sparkle with a strong fundamental focus. Cedar Tops are a popular choice with players who want an earthier, darker sound with a mellower tone than a Spruce top an equivalent spruce top model. The brand new Taylor designed Claria pickup relocates the controls to just inside the sound hole. The pickup sounds great and its low profile aesthetic is elegant and easy to use. The Action Control Neck allows for easy adjustment of the neck angle that allows for simple, easily performed, adjustments.
This is a great update of a classic Taylor model that looks back to its roots while also looking ahead to the future.
