The EDT 13/29 is an often overlooked yet astonishingly versatile model that was developed by founder Fred Taccone back in 2007 for touring and session guitarist Evan Taubenfeld. It's twin KT66 output tube power section and lush tube-driven spring reverb combines some of our favorite British and American tones into one compact package.
While the topology seems rather simple, the EDT offers a lot of tonal versatility between the power class switching (13 to 29 watts), push-pull mid boost, Hi/Lo inputs, and speaker dampening switch. In Class AB/A mode, 29 watts of output yields nice full and responsive headroom for some pseudo-Bassman tones. Switching to 13 watts allows for some breakup at more manageable volumes without sacrificing low end punch. If you're hungry for more Marshall-like breakup, the mid boost pushes the amp into some pretty glorious overdrive. Adding in spring reverb gives it extra dimension and range that works really well in this circuit.
The speaker dampening switch - located on the underside of the chassis - affects the negative feedback of the output section, which curbs some of the top end and softens up the amp's attack and aggression a touch. This is specifically helpful for players who want a more relaxed, cleaner tone with the ability to push the preamp a touch more.
The sturdy birch ply cabinet houses the robust chassis and a Celestion Vintage 30, handsomely done up in a Silver/Eggshell tolex. The amp is in very nice condition for its age, clearly showing that it's been well maintained and cared for since new. It includes its original slipcover as well.
