1967 Gibson ES-330TD in original Cherry Sunburst just in!

We never get tired of old 330s finding their way to us. Are they the perfect guitar? No. But there's something these guitars do that often surprises folks who haven't spent time with them. They're lightweight, acoustically lively, and deceptively versatile given their fully hollow construction.

This particular '67 has a bit of extra something happening, and it's coming from two particular features - the neck profile and the pickups. First, the profile is all 50s. If you can get along with the narrower nut, this profile is unreal feeling! A prior refret also has it playing incredibly well, too.

Second, these P90s just rip! That's part of what makes them so versatile. They do the cleaner, jazzy P90 thing very well, but they bark and bite with authority. The guitar seemed to have lost its original pickguard many moons ago, yet the original Cherry Sunburst finish shows little in the way of fading. And check out the flame and figure in this Maple! We're not accustomed to seeing tops like this on Gibsons from this period.

It was a bit of a dirty bird when it first came through, and needed a good deep cleaning to get rid of some of the funk that years of playing built up on the finish. It's feeling, looking, and frankly smelling a lot better! With the exception of that lost pickguard and the refret and replaced nut, all else remains original to the guitar.

What other vintage electric can be as satisfying as a couch guitar yet handle the demands of gigging and recording with such grace and dynamics?!
