This incredibly clean 1946 Martin 000-28 is one of the strongest-sounding postwar guitars we've had in the shop.

This incredibly clean 1946 Martin 000-28 is one of the strongest-sounding postwar guitars we've had in the shop. We don't want to create the illusion that this guitar will replace a dreadnought in anyone's stable ~ far from it. But what we're referencing is caliber of tone and responsiveness. This 000-28 is unusually sweet sounding, with great volume, projection and depth of overtone. It sounds excellent for any sort of fingerstyle guitar playing, but that aforementioned projection makes it a great small-bodied flatpicker as well. There's an ebony neck support rod in this guitar, which likely plays a part in the qualities mentioned above.

The guitar's overall condition is vintage-excellent, meaning the guitar has been played and carries the associated signs of handling alongside minor finish wear consistent with age. However, its surfaces are still shiny, its setup geometry is perfect, and its hardware looks almost new. A recent neck reset performed was performed by Laurent Brondel, who made the new bone saddle seen in our pictures (the saddle is the only other non-original part of the guitar). The frets have also been lightly dressed. Priced with its original hardshell case, this guitar would be a terrific addition to any collection in need of a no-issues Martin 000-28.
