The new Martin Custom Shop OM-45 De Luxe 1930 adds a classy homage to the company's Golden Era to the "Custom Expert" lineup. Limited to 50 instruments worldwide, this guitar celebrates the grandeur of the original OM-45 Deluxe by showing off the capabilities of the seasoned craftspeople working in Martin's Custom Shop.
There were only 11 original Martin OM-45 Deluxe ever produced; and fans of the company will remember that they acquired one of the 11 at auction several years ago. That guitar, which now resides in Martin's museum, is the blueprint for this new Custom Expert model.
The Custom Shop OM-45 De Luxe 1930 is the first Custom Expert model to feature a VTS Adirondack Spruce top and a gloss finish. In keeping with other CE models, the guitar features a modern adjustable truss rod but leaves the rest of the Authentic-style construction platform alone. The result is an instrument that's powerful, responsive, and wide open, with the tangible response and depth of sound only otherwise found in a vintage guitar.
