A Jazzmaster built around the spirit of '60s catalog guitars. You know the ones - the cheap, weird, beautiful instruments that fueled garage rock. Back then, kids saved up paper-route money for a guitar from the Sears catalog and ended up with something strange and wonderful: (fantastic sounding) gold foil pickups, oddball switching, finishes that caught the light just right. A lot of those guitars went on to make records that mattered. Fender's Gold Foil Collection nods to that lineage, but builds it on a platform that actually plays like it should.

This Jazzmaster runs a mahogany body - warmer and more focused than the alder you'd expect on an offset - paired with three Gold Foil mini-humbuckers that split the difference between single-coil clarity and humbucker push. The bound ebony fingerboard with pearloid block inlays is fast and slick under the hand, the 21 narrow-tall frets bend smoothly without choking, and the vibrato is set up to work the way Jazzmaster players want it to work. Round it out with a matching painted headstock, a Jaguar-inspired switch plate, and vintage-style tuners with white buttons.

The look is unmistakable. The feel is pure Fender. And the sound sits in a corner of the tonal map most guitars don't reach.
