This one conjures something specific - call it '60s and '70s country guitar hero, the kind of instrument that looks like it would have been at home on stage with Don Rich or Buck Owens.

Every Masterbuilt guitar is made by one person, start to finish. That's the point, and it's what separates this room from everything else Fender makes. As longtime supports and believers in boutique instruments, you can think of it as Fender's boutique line housed under their iconic umbrella.

Levi Perry is one of the Custom Shop's newer Masterbuilders, and this La Cabronita-style Telecaster is the fourth guitar we've received from him. Four guitars in and the pattern is clear: Levi doesn't build to a spec sheet. He builds to a feeling.
This one conjures something specific - call it '60s and '70s country guitar hero, the kind of instrument that looks like it would have been at home on stage with Don Rich or Buck Owens. Black with gold flake, aged to a relic finish, tortoiseshell guard, binding, and relic'd gold hardware. It has presence before you plug it in.

A Josefina-wound P90 in the neck position - the same winder behind Fender's most prized Custom Shop pickups - paired with an Original Blackguard Tele in the bridge. Mahogany body, AAA rosewood fingerboard, large C profile, 9.5" radius, 6100 jumbo frets, 1.65" bone nut. Levi has pulled his favorite features from across several decades and combined them into something that doesn't feel like a period piece or a parts guitar, it feels like exactly the guitar it was always supposed to be.
