Gibson ES-175 A-26870 (1958)
Hollow-Body/Archtop · Humbuckers Pickups · Vintage
So much has been said of Gibson's legendary hollowbody electric over the years that we frankly don't feel the need to educate the masses, but that won't stop us from championing the great ones when they come along.
This single PAF loaded beauty from '58 is a guitar that delivers right out of the gate. Woody, sweet, and chimey with incredible range via just a single volume and tone control. This is a guitar that's worked throughout its life, but was never abused. The original Sunburst finish is clean and vibrant with typical lacquer checking and various nicks, dings, and scuffs from general play wear over the years. The fingerboard was refretted prior to the guitar arriving here at our shop, and the work was well done.
It's got a set of reproduction vintage style tuners on it and an aftermarket zigzag tailpiece, but the original tailpiece is included with the guitar. It's paired with an early 60s Ess & Ess hardshell as well.
