Boutique Guitars & Instruments
The Music Emporium keeps close to 300 boutique instruments in stock at our Lexington, Massachusetts showroom near Boston, which is most of what we do. We are Collings' largest dealer worldwide, Froggy Bottom's very first dealer, the original U.S. dealer for Lowden, and an authorized dealer for Grosh, Novo, Santa Cruz, Atkin, Nik Huber, Powers Electric, Koll, Thorn, Iris, Fairbanks, Island Instruments, and Frank Brothers, plus boutique amps from Carr, Benson, Two-Rock, Milkman, and Victoria (to name but a few).
Boutique builders work in a space that blends traditional luthiery with focused innovation. They do not have global scale or massive marketing behind them. What they have is vision and the hands-on experience to execute it, and many of them got there the same way: years as repair techs, vintage restorers, or builders inside iconic brands before stepping out to chase a more personal approach.
Players drive in from across New England to play several of them in a row and find out which one is theirs. If you want the longer version of what boutique means and who these builders are, read our explore boutique guitars page.
