Collings 03 Koa & Engelmann Spruce

Gorgeous and rare Tonewoods elevate this uniquely appointed Collings 03!

This exceptional Collings 03 features a beautifully figured bearclaw Englemann Spruce Top paired with a gorgeously flamed Koa back and sides. We've had many Collings come through our shop over the years, but I don't know if we've ever had one with bearclaw Engelmann Spruce top before. The pictures almost don't do it justice. It's highly figured and almost three-dimensional in person.

Beauty aside, the mellower Engelmann top is perfect for the smaller 0 size body. The sounds is warm and responds effortlessly to a light touch. Of course, being a Collings there's more headroom than you'd think if you're inclined to dig in a little bit. Between the small size of the 0 body, the ease of play, and the overall responsiveness, this is just hard guitar to put down. Collings 3-Style appointments of an abalone rosette, 3-Style chevron backstop, Gold Waverly Tuners, and a fully bound body, neck, and peghead tastefully add an additional touch of elegance and refinement. This is sure to be one of the coolest Collings guitars we receive this year.
