Burgin Style Two Weissenborn Mahogany
Brand New
The combination of the Weissenborn hollow-neck design with a deeper body, akin to that of a Kona, makes for a massive sounding, viscerally moving acoustic lap steel experience.
Why We Love This
Paddy Burgin's deep-body acoustic lap slides have become mainstays here at The Music Emporium: very well made, highly musical interpretations of Hermann Weissenborn's classic designs of the 1920s and '30s.Mahogany works beautifully as a tone wood for acoustic lap steel, offering a strong, thick fundamental note that plays equally well with single-note runs as well chords. Dubbed a Style 2 with the upgrade of rope binding, the aesthetic is clean, the appointments very well executed.
We go back a couple decades with Paddy at this point, having discovered his wonderful lap steels some twenty years ago during the Ben Harper-fueled renaissance of interest in acoustic lap steel. Whether you are looking to get into acoustic lap slide or are already a seasoned player, this is one of the most exciting instruments around, and remains an outstanding value in a handmade acoustic slide guitar.
