Product information

The all-tube direct recording amp you didn’t know you needed.

Looking for real tube amp tone in a format that fits your modern setup? Meet the Fryette Valvulator GPDI/IR, a compact, all-tube one-watt amplifier designed for direct recording, silent practice, live performance, and everything in between. It’s not a modeler or multi-effect unit pretending to be a tube amp - it is a tube amp. That means touch-sensitive response, dynamic feel, and the kind of tone you can only get from glowing glass and iron.

The GPDI/IR gives you two onboard cabinet simulation options: a zero-latency analog cab filter with a wide dynamic range, and a built-in IR loader with memory for 16 cabs (8 included, plus room for your own via USB). You can run either option individually or together, or bypass them entirely if you prefer external IRs. It’s incredibly flexible without being complicated.

Need to reamp a dry track? You’re covered. With a Unity Gain DI Out and dedicated Reamp In, you can record clean and reprocess later with no extra gear required. You can also use the GPDI/IR to add an all-tube channel to any rig by plugging into your amp’s effects loop and activating External Amp Mode (remotely switchable via footswitch).

There's even a dedicated effects loop onboard, perfect for placing pedals between the preamp and power section, or for using an external modeler or preamp to drive the power amp.

And yes, it drives real cabinets. At one watt, it’ll power a 1x12, 2x12, or even a 4x12 with ease at home or in the studio, giving you mic’d cab tone at whisper levels. Add in a refined Sag control that enhances bloom, sustain, and touch sensitivity (regardless of pickup type), and you’ve got a tool that responds like a great amp should, only with way more flexibility.

Whether you’re recording, practicing late at night, or building the ultimate fly rig, the Fryette GPDI/IR is the real deal: a studio-grade tone solution built for players who still believe tube tone matters.
