If you're looking for a more refined Powers (aesthetically), this is your guitar.

By now, you’ve probably heard the story about Andy Powers’ A-Type—a guitar infused with the spirit of Southern California’s surf, hotrod, and skateboard culture.

What you might not hear as much about is just how consistently great these guitars are. We’ve had the chance to see, hold, and play dozens—and each one is as flawlessly built as the last. What we haven't seen, however, is a pickguard free A-Type in a stunning Shadow Black finish! If you're looking for a more refined Powers (aesthetically), this is your guitar.

But beyond the impeccable craftsmanship and gorgeous looks, what really stands out is how the A-Type feels and sounds after a year and a half. Andy set out to build something original for players who, in his words, "don’t want to be a stereotype."

Even after a year plus, the A-Type remains as fresh and exciting as it did when we first took delivery of one in June ‘23 - and to be sure, that’s a rare thing. It’s easy to be captivated by a guitar when it’s new, but will it still move you years down the road?

If our experience is any indication, the answer is a resounding yes.
