Northfield Big Mon Engelmann Black Top (USED, 2024)
Used
Flame maple pickguard and a gloss black top on this recent, Engelmann-topped Big Mon -- we love the look and, of course, the tone!
With a powerful voice, a powerful look (we love the gloss black top!), and a K&K pickup already installed, this recent Big Mon from Northfield is more than stage-ready! The Engelmann top offers plenty of pop, easily cutting through a mix with a slightly rounded voice that rewards a dynamic right hand attack. The Northfield "Big Mon" features a slightly enlarged F5 body, which produces a very rich, powerful sound. All Big Mon models feature premium-grade tonewoods and a varnish finish, and there's a noticeable difference in the openness of sound and projection they carry. If you're adventurous enough to push the boundaries of tradition, but you demand the woody power we've come to expect in a serious bluegrass mandolin, check out Big Mon!
