Building on the success (and sound) of Martin's Custom Shop 1937 platform, this new D-28 offers tonal complexity and power we haven't yet heard from this line of guitars. You can think of the Custom Shop 1937 guitars as Authentics ~ with an adjustable truss rod and non-VTS top. We've got to say -- pound for pound, these may be the best sounding dreadnoughts on the market if what you crave is the openness and response of a decades-old guitar. This model is limited to 50 pieces, and it's priced with a 5-ply Martin hardshell case.
