Product information

A touch-sensitive low-gain overdrive that responds to pick attack and pickup output, with a Focus control that reshapes feel and EQ together.

The Sweet Honey Overdrive sits in low-gain territory - closer to a light push than a saturated drive - and the appeal is how it responds to what your hands are doing. Dig in and you get a singing overdrive; back off and the pedal cleans up almost entirely. Pickup choice matters too: a Tele bridge and a P-90 will get into the dirt sooner than a lower-output single-coil, and the SHOD rewards that range rather than flattening it.

The Focus control is what separates this pedal from most low-gain drives. It's not a tone knob in the usual sense - turning it changes the EQ and the dynamic feel together.

Counter-clockwise: softer top end, requires harder picking to break up. The voicing that jazz and blues players tend to land on, where the pedal stays out of the way until you ask it to show up.

Clockwise: slight treble lift and the pedal breaks up earlier with less pick effort. Classic rock territory, where you want the drive there and waiting.

The SHOD works two ways: as a clean-amp drive for light overdrive that responds to your touch, or as a push into an already-distorted amp for lead voicing and saturation. Either application stays musical - there's no fizz to dial out and no scooped midrange to fight.

A solid pick for players who prefer to control gain with their hands rather than a pedalboard.
