Jam Pedals Wahcko Wah MK.2

JAM's long-running wah, rebuilt around a custom inductor, with six sweep ranges and dedicated guitar and bass modes.

A great wah comes down to its inductor and to whether its sweep lands in the right place for your rig. JAM Pedals has been refining both since the original Wahcko joined their line in 2008, and the mk.2 is the most adjustable version yet. At its core is a custom JAM inductor inspired by the TDK parts in the classic Cry Baby and Vox wahs of the 1960s, and a six-position SWEEP switch on the side shifts the whole range up or down, so you can match the pedal to a bright single-coil guitar into a clean American amp one night and humbuckers into a pushed British head the next.

Inside, a new Q trimmer sets how focused and vocal the sweep is, and the input-gain trimmer from the original lets you match the pedal to your pickups. Both ship set to about noon, so it sounds right out of the box. Internal DIP switches select guitar or bass mode, rocker tension adjusts with the included Allen key, and it's true bypass, running on a 9V supply or a 9V battery. Over the years the Wahcko has found its way onto the boards of Nile Rodgers, Bill Frisell, John Scofield, Steve Lukather, Marc Ribot, and Molly Miller, which says a lot about how much ground it covers.

JAM was founded in Athens, Greece, in 2005 by guitarist Jannis Anastasakis, and their team still builds and paints every pedal by hand.
