This guitar is a particularly nice-sounding example of the model, which shows nothing in the way of previous repair work. For a later-1950's guitar, it booms with impressive low-end power; and naturally, it provides all the chimey, percussive depth a rhythm guitar track could ever ask for.
As our photos show, this instrument is in exceptionally clean, original condition. It's been played, and shows a few minor areas of finish wear, but most of its surface area shines like new. The original single-line Kluson tuners work beautifully, and the original frets play cleanly up and down the neck.
And that neck! It feels perfect in-hand, with just enough mass to provide a comfortable anchor for hours of playing without ever becoming fatiguing. There's essentially no finish wear on the back of the neck, as far as vintage guitars go, making it all the easier to forget your playing something that's nearly 70 years old.
As a bonus, this SJ comes with its original Lifton hard case, which is also in beautiful condition.
