Gibson's L-50 model us arguably one of the most popular acoustic archtops of the 20th Century. This second generation build from 1936 proves why - an impressive sounding 16" archtop that has been finely tuned and dialed in to satisfy the most discerning of players.

Previously owned by a professional musician, this L-50 was outfitted with a particularly great sounding Dearmond floating pickup - a formidable companion for a guitar whose natural voice needs only extension, not manipulation. Certainly loud enough to accompany smaller, quieter ensembles or solo performances on its own, the addition of the Dearmond elevates this L-50's versatility considerably. The guitar has survived 75 years in relatively good health, with its original Sunburst finish still quite vibrant. The guitar has had some of its frets replaced along with a new nut, along a nice reproduction set of of Gotoh tuners installed. The Dearmond was installed very cleanly, with volume and tone controls undermounted to the nice replacement pickguard for both clean, sleek look and for ease of use. The original Ebony bridge and nickel trapeze tailpiece remain in great condition. Some of the back braces have been partially reglued as well.

What's almost as impressive as the guitar is the vintage hardshell case that accompanies it! Still in quite good condition and functionally sound.

We're always smitten with these guitars when they come in - there aren't many vintage archtops at this price point that deliver on tone the way a great L-50 can.
