This 1960 J-45 is a killer-sounding guitar for a player who doesn't mind their vintage guitars with a few well-earned bumps. We recently took this guitar on trade from a long-time client who purchased it from our friends at Lark Street Music more than 20 years ago. At that time, they'd performed a series of repairs including the gluing of multiple back cracks, a re-fret, and the installation of a new bridge saddle (solid bone, as opposed to the original adjustable one). The guitar has been stable ever since, and has required no work of any kind. It plays beautifully up and down the neck, and boasts terrific responsiveness and a big, woody, broken-in voice. It bears repeating that anyone who's squeamish about condition should likely continue their search. But we feel this old J-45 is a relative bargain on the current vintage landscape, offering a caliber of tone that outclasses its current price point. Priced with non-original hardshell case.
