Whether you know it as Walnut or Mocha, this 1974 Fender Stratocaster captures the vibe and tone of a mid 70s Strat to a tee.
Quintessential 1970s Fender looks with the original Walnut (often referred to as Mocha) finish, this 1974 Fender Stratocaster is one hell of a player! The slim carved Maple neck has been expertly refretted by vintage restoration master Laurent Brondel and has the playability of a modern-built instrument with some excellent vintage vibe.
Both middle and bridge pickups are of a later 70s Fender variety (1976 and 1978, respectively), but balance out with the original stagger-pole neck pickup wonderfully. Original early 1973 pots work great, and a 5-way switch was added at some point to allow for the more expanded pickup options we know and love.
Coming in a few ounces under 8lbs makes this one quite light, especially for a mid 70s Fender solidbody. It's very well balanced and comfortable. Condition is Very Good, with typical nicks and dings on the body and pick wear on the pickguard. The neck shows lots of natural play wear but without impacting playability.
