Of all the low-watt Fender amps in the company's rich history, there may be none as popular and identifiable as the Princeton. The 12-watt 1x10 combo excels equally at low volume cleans and explosive tube overdrive, making it one of the best compact studio and stage amplifiers out there.
The 'Brownface' Era Princeton (known as the 6G2 circuit) is the first departure from the Tweed Era lineage, combining the desirable traits of the 5F2A Tweed Princeton circuit and adding lush and musical bias-shifting tremolo. The 4-knob configuration keeps things simple and easy - a single Volume and Tone knob for all your tone-shaping and volume needs, and Speed and Depth controls for dialing in the sweet throb of the tremolo circuit.
This particular example is quite clean and mostly original, save for a replacement handle and some standard servicing by way of a 3-prong power cord and electrolytic cap job. The original Oxford 10" speaker has been reconed and sounds excellent. Cabinet condition is great, as is the original brown tolex. The grill cloth shows some slight separation along the bottom edge, but remains mostly intact and secured to the speaker baffle.
Quality examples of these low-watt wonders aren't always easy to find. If you're looking for the ultimate low-powered companion for home, stage, or studio use, definitely consider this Princeton!
