With its inherent tonality maintained since 1964, this late CBS era Princeton Reverb sounds as good as ever, and still proves that this amp remains one of the most versatile low wattage combos in the history of electric guitar amplification.
The legendary Fender Princeton Reverb has proven time and time again just how unbeatable these versatile little tone machines are in their class. From the studio to the stage, there are few amps that deliver the sweetness and sparkle of a PR.
This 1965 Fender Princeton Reverb is a mid-year build from August 1965 based on the 'OH' stamp on the tube chart, and features its original transformers and stock circuit throughout with the exception of a replaced volume pot. It's been recapped and retubed where necessary, along with some service to the original reverb tank. The amp was outfitted with a later Fender-branded Eminence speaker that is similar in power to an old Oxford.
The tolex and grill cloth remain original, with a small tear in the latter on the bottom edge. The reverb tank was subject to some moisture at some point, and the transducers were replaced while keeping the original springs and chassis intact. It's working and sounding great. Overall, it's held up quite well and sounds just as it should!
