Fender’s Limited Edition Two-Tone Thinline Telecaster takes the semi-hollow Tele that players have loved since the late ’60s and gives it one of the coolest looks Fender has put on the model in years. The top is finished in Surf Green with black binding, set against Arctic White back and sides, so the guitar looks a little different from every angle and has real retro charm without feeling like a costume.

Underneath the paint is a USA-made alder Thinline body, which keeps the weight down and adds an open, airy quality to the classic Tele voice. Powering it is a pair of Fender Custom Shop hand-wound ‘51 Nocaster pickups, which bring plenty of early-’50s snap and bite at the bridge and a warm, round voice at the neck. A treble-bleed circuit on the master volume keeps the top end clear as you roll back, so you can clean things up from the guitar without losing sparkle.

The one-piece maple neck has a satin finish on the back, so it feels smooth and fast in the hand, and it’s topped with an ebony fingerboard with a 9.5" radius and 22 narrow-tall frets. That combination makes it comfortable for chording and easy for bends, and the ebony adds a little extra clarity and snap to the attack. Out back, the American Vintage-style three-saddle bridge with steel barrel saddles anchors the strings through the body for that classic Tele twang and sustain. A bone nut and ClassicGear tuners round out the package.
