This Fender Custom Shop build leans boutique with a Korina body, P90 neck pickup, roasted maple neck, and a Blackguard-style bridge pickup. A little Tele twang, a little LP roundness - and a whole lot of fun.
We love when the Fender Custom Shop steps off the beaten path, and this guitar is a perfect example of that creative spirit. With specs you’d usually expect from boutique builders, this Tele-style build features a Korina body, a P90 in the neck, a Blackguard-style bridge pickup, roasted maple neck, and a half tort pickguard. It’s a smart blend of tradition and originality - and it totally works.
The roasted maple neck feels great in-hand, shaped to a comfortable ’60s C profile (.79"–.93") with a smooth taper that keeps the lower positions easy to navigate. The 9 1/2–12” compound radius and jumbo 6100 frets make bending and lead work effortless, while still preserving that classic Fender feel. It’s a Strat-leaning carve with just the perfect amount of depth.
Plugged in, the bridge pickup delivers bold, punchy Tele twang with a touch of midrange heft, while the P90 neck pickup leans into warm, rounded tones reminiscent of a vintage Les Paul. Both pickups shine whether you're running clean or pushing into edge-of-breakup territory.
A fun, fresh take on a Tele - with tone, looks, and feel that stand out from the pack.
