What we love most about the I-35 Deluxe is that Collings carves it from solid wood, with a mahogany body, a maple center block, and a fully carved maple top, and you can hear the difference the moment you play it next to the laminated I-35 LC. Both guitars have that open, airy quality you want from a semi-hollow, but the Deluxe gives each note a little more harmonic complexity and richness - a broader EQ overall - while the center block keeps everything focused when you turn up. That combination is the reason we love them so much. Think 335 mixed with a Les Paul and you'll be in the ballpark of what the carved top versions are all about.
Most I-35 Deluxes from this era shipped with Lollars, but this one is loaded with a pair of ThroBak SLE-101 humbuckers, and they suit it beautifully, giving the guitar a strong, articulate voice with a rich midrange that sits beautifully in a mix. It is completely at home in jazz, blues, and rock, and it will happily do country too if you ask it to.

Every instrument is thoroughly checked and set up before shipping fully insured via UPS with tracking to your door. We reuse boxes and materials to cut waste when they meet our protection standard.
Inspect it, play it, and if it isn't right, contact us within 48 hours of delivery to arrange a return or one-time exchange. Returns are subject to a 5% restocking fee, and the buyer covers shipping both ways.
