Gibson Les Paul Standard, Ebony (1977)
LP-Style · Humbuckers Pickups · Vintage
It seems that late 70s Customs have been the more prevalent electric in our shop over the last few years, so it's nice to see a Standard come through that's clean, original, and rocking one of the cooler colors on a Gibson.
This '77 in Ebony is a great example of a Norlin Era LP, and while it doesn't quite carry the collectability of its 50s and 60s brethren, it's a great way to break into the vintage world with a guitar that is ready for any gig or recording situation you could throw at it. With the exception of the knobs, frets, and a nut, this guitar approaches its mid-century mark in largely original condition. The electronics remain untouched, and the finish is in great shape. It's even got the original Protector hardshell case!
If you love the idea of vintage but aren't quite ready to step into some of the higher dollar Gibsons, 70s Gibsons like this LP are a no-brainer.
