Product information

This gorgeous 1962 Gibson J-45 was recently acquired from its original owner. It was purchased new, here in the Northeast, played sparingly for a time, then put away for decades as life took other turns and its owner gave up on music. He turned back to it in recent years, but still kept the guitar in excellent condition, always babying it. This is a particularly good sounding example of an early 60's J-45, with unusual power, fullness, and combined parts warmth and clarity. Anyone looking for a vintage J-45 with tone and looks--and, bonus, on the lower end of the price ladder--would be very happy with this instrument.

This guitar is in very good overall condition -- and almost nothing has ever been done to it. Not long ago, luthier Matt Shimala replaced the original bridge (which had cracked) and installed a bone saddle. The original bridge comes with the guitar, though it wouldn't be practical to use it. Our shop has inspected the guitar and freshened its setup -- but honestly, not much was needed. A great guitar, which has stood the test of time beautifully! Priced with its original case.
