C.F. Martin celebrates 100 years of lacquer finishes with the new Martin Custom Shop 0-18K2 CFM IV, limited to 100 instruments worldwide!
In 1926, Martin moved away from shellac and spirit varnishes and began using lacquer to create a more robust-looking and protective finish. Their early lacquer finishes have a handsome, organic appearance; and we're big proponents of the feel, responsiveness, and musicality flattops with a thin, unfussy lacquer finish always seem to have.
This limited-edition 0-18K is a joy to play, and captures the look and vibe of a late-20's guitar without sacrificing the conveniences of modern playability. Its voice is warm and direct, and it'd be a wonderful addition to any arsenal that's been lacking a parlor-sized acoustic.
Priced with hardshell case from Martin.
