Nugget A Standard (1980)
Used
Early A Standard model from the esteemed mandolin builder Mike Kemnitzer / Nugget Mandolins, with all the dry, cutting power that any bluegrass mandolinist could ask for.
Nugget mandolins do not come up for sale often. A second shot at one is an even rarer rare! We sold this A model ten years ago, and are excited to be able to revisit with it again. An early example dating to 1980, it remains in very good condition some forty-six years on, the only repair a filled strap button hole at the top of the back.Nugget mandolins are prized for their potent, direct voice, excellent projection, and wonderful workmanship, all of which are on display in this A Standard. Like other Nuggets we have had the pleasure of hosting, this instrument exhibits great dynamic range, handle hard-driving playing with ease.
