Product information

John Reischman, Chris Thile, Mike Marshall, Courtney Hartman, Joe K. Walsh all play Lawrence Smart Instruments. Hard to imagine a more impressive artist roster!

There is just something about a Lawrence Smart instrument: right out of the gate, it has a well played, been-in-the-world sense to it. I liken it to your favorite baseball glove. It is hard to achieve that quality in a new instrument, but Lawrence pulls it off consistently.

The tone of this F5 captures much of that same feeling: earthy, round treble strings, really nice warmth and springiness in all registers. It is a delight to play too, supported by a nice, full neck carve with a speed finish on the neck. The mandolin features a lovely, one-piece maple back, figured maple neck, and an Engelmann spruce top, all under a very attractive varnish finish.

Priced with Hoffee case.
