Product information

A bold, late-’70s-inspired Strat with classic alder snap, a substantial “U” neck, and hardtail punch - equal parts vibe and playability.

Seventy years in, the Strat doesn’t need much introduction.

But every once in a while, one comes along that makes you pause, and this 70th Anniversary Vintera II in Antigua is one of those guitars.

Alright...let's address the elephant in the room: Antigua. It's safe to say it's not everyone's favorite color, but we're going on record here as being in the love it camp. It's such an unusual look, but it just works. And besides, do you really want to just go sunburst or black or...like everyone else? Of course not.

Under the finish, you’ve got an alder body, which is really the heart of classic Strat tone. Balanced, fuller midrange (than Ash), punchy, and clear. It gives you that familiar snap on the low end, scooped sparkle in the highs, and the aforementioned midrange that sits right where it should in a mix.

The ’70s “U” shape maple neck is substantial without feeling clubby. If you like a little more to hold onto, this carve feels great, especially for rhythm work and bigger chord voicings. The 7.25" radius rosewood board keeps things vintage-correct, and paired with vintage-tall frets, you get that traditional feel but with enough height to dig into bends and vibrato without fighting the guitar.

The trio of ’70s-style single-coils delivers exactly what you’d hope for: glassy top end, woody neck tones, and that unmistakable 2 & 4 / in-between position quack. There’s warmth there, but still plenty of bite when you lean in.

It’s also a hardtail, which, depending on the player, can be a huge plus. You get added sustain, a slightly firmer attack, and rock-solid tuning stability thanks to the vintage-style “F” tuners and block saddles. It feels grounded. Direct. (Think Tele).

This isn’t just a commemorative model, it’s a very playable, very usable Strat that nods to a specific era without feeling like a museum piece.

If you’ve ever connected with a good ’70s Strat, this one will feel instantly familiar. And being part of the 70th Anniversary run, they’re not going to be around forever.
