Lowden's new F-12 model must be one of the best offerings under 4K in the increasingly crowded guitar landscape. The F-12 combines their most popular size, the versatile F body, with a bolt on neck and classic tonewoods.

Indian Rosewood and Sitka Spruce top are solid choices and help grant this instrument an indelible and versatile tone. Lowden spent years developing the bolt on neck design and it really shows as the guitar resonantes freely and sounds terrific.

Upon first strum we were greeted with the woody and powerful tone that makes Lowden guitars immediately identifiable. The bolt on neck allows for this model to be built more efficiently, but anyone familiar with Lowden guitars will instantly be right at home with the sound and feel of this instrument.

Overall this guitar is an incredible value that puts it in direct competition with many of the large production acoustic guitar builders. If you've long dreamed of owning a Lowden it just became a little bit easier, and if you're simply in the market for a great sounding acoustic the F-12 is a must play.
