Product information

Adding an Old Growth top to a Collings seems to provide the best elements of torrefaction (dryness, warmth) while retaining vibrancy and power not otherwise found in a Sitka-topped guitar.

This Collings 001 12-fret features an Old Growth Sitka Spruce top, which produces a quick, full response and beautiful fundamental clarity. Adding an Old Growth Sitka top to a Collings seems to provide the best elements of torrefaction (dryness, warmth) while retaining vibrancy and power not otherwise found in a Sitka-topped guitar.

The 12-fret Traditional models provide endless versatility for anyone interested in a robust-sounding, small-bodied flattop; and we think this Mahogany / Old Growth Sitka variant will be especially pleasant in front of a microphone! Priced with hardshell case.
