A refined, collector-grade electric mandolin from venerable Toronto luthier Joseph Yanuziello.
Years ago we approached Joe Yanuziello with the idea of building an exclusive model for The Music Emporium. The resulting guitar Joe dreamed up, dubbed "The Continental," proved a brilliant instrument. Imagine our delight now in seeing this instrument come through the shop: a one-off, custom-orderd 5-string electric mandolin based on the original Continental design. A stunning instrument, it turns out the model works just as well as a mandolin as it did as a guitar.From the moment you first pick up this Yanuziello, you know you're holding a special instrument. The quality is obvious (as is the weight, or lack thereof). It is very addictive to play and just exceptionally musical and unique. The Fralin/Yanuziello single coil pickup is articulate, nuanced, complex, fat and warm all at once. Much as we love Joe's paired-course electric mandolins, the single-string setup works very well for a five-course electric instrument. We were pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to adjust to the low C and navigate the transpositional thinking required, particularly for chords.
All in all, this is a remarkable, unique electric mandolin from a world class builder with keen aesthetic and sonic sensibilities.

Every instrument is thoroughly checked and set up before shipping fully insured via UPS with tracking to your door. We reuse boxes and materials to cut waste when they meet our protection standard.
Inspect it, play it, and if it isn't right, contact us within 48 hours of delivery to arrange a return or one-time exchange. Returns are subject to a 5% restocking fee, and the buyer covers shipping both ways.
