In celebration of Spaceman’s 15th anniversary, we revisit the very first Spaceman pedal with the Rumblefuzz II. We added several upgrades to the original 2009 Rumblefuzz circuit, including: 10db’s of additional output volume; an additional third toggle switch position; and increased tonal range on the Rumble control.
From transparent amp-like overdrive to thick sustain-laden wall of fuzz, the Rumblefuzz II offers a wide palette of harmonic distortion. This pedal acts as an extension of your instrument, with a natural dynamic interaction to your playing and instrument controls. True to its name, the Rumblefuzz II shines on bass and baritone guitars, featuring full round lows and a unique bite that perfectly cuts through the mix.
The focused panel layout is simple to use, while offering significant tonal adjustment due to the interactive nature of its controls. The RUMBLE control tailors the bass response of the circuit, from tight overdrive tones to incredibly fat fuzz. BITE controls the gain of the circuit and allows for a similar range – with overdrive, distortion and fuzz levels of gain on tap. The */= toggle switch adds three voicing options to the pedal, with its cryptic symbols carried over from the original Rumblefuzz.
The idea here was to experiment and listen without preconceived notions. Each position affects bias, compression and presence in different ways. FUZZ controls output volume and is capable of overdriving your amp even on low BITE settings.
