This stunning guitar features Pre-War's new "1934" option package, which introduces the use of bar frets and an Ebony neck support rod in order to faithfully recreate the feel and response of the first 14-fret dreadnoughts.

While we've come to expect excellence of design, looks, and tone from our friends at the Pre-War Guitar Company, this new "1934-style" dreadnought has raised the bar in terms of openness of sound in a new guitar. Built in the style of the first 14-fret dreadnoughts, which hadn't yet adopted the modern "T" frets and steel neck support rod introduced in 1935, this guitar features true-to-1934 bar fret wire and an Ebony support rod. The result? Imagine the power of a dreadnought, with the neck feel of a pre-war Martin OM, and all the woody sweetness that accompanies it. This guitar's voice is dry & wide open, with incredibly round, fat trebles for a new instrument. It's quite unlike anything else that's available in a new dreadnought. And if you're the sort of player who thinks dreadnoughts don't have to be all horsepower, this is a lifetime guitar (unless you happen to uncover a 1934 D-28 at a yard sale). We asked the builders at Pre-War to replicate a 1934-style Ambertone finish, in order to round out the package; and we think the results are sublime. Priced with "Original Case Company" hard case.
