This 1951 Martin 0-15 is a great entryway into the world of vintage flattop guitars. Popularized in recent years by Kenneth Pattengale of The Milk Carton Kids, the 0-15 was Martin's smallest student model guitar for most of the 1950's and early 1960's. Its all-Mahogany construction is only significantly different from a style-17 in its lack of body binding (though it effectively took the place of an 0-17 after the move away from scalloped bracing in 1944). These are great fingerpicking guitars, with a warm, dry sound; though as Mr. Pattengale has so aptly demonstrated, they yield an archtop-esque snarl when played with a flatpick in an acoustic duo.

This player's example of the model shows its fair share of dings, scratches, and scrapes, but remains almost entirely original. There are two top cracks, and the ubiquitous pickguard crack, all of which have been glued and stabilized. A bridge plate pad has been installed as well. Our shop has reset the neck and installed a new saddle. Priced with a non-original Martin thermoplastic hardshell case.
