This 1943 Gibson J-45 is one of the finest "Banner" examples of the model we've ever seen. We're being a bit superficial and leading with the aesthetic, because, well, just look at this thing! Sporting a picture-perfect sunburst and firestripe pickguard, this is exactly the way a J-45 should present. The sound shouldn't be forgotten about: this guitar is incredibly powerful, with all the compressed, woody chime a Gibson fan could ever want. The baseball-bat sized Mahogany neck feels wonderful, and this beast plays easily up and down the neck.
We rate this J-45's condition "very good" for its age. One back crack has been repaired; and the back has been refinished in accordance with the aforementioned repair. The work is clean and good-looking. The original tuner buttons have been replaced. Other than those items, this guitar is as it was in 1943; and it bears repeating that it's a trophy example of one of history's most iconic flattop guitars. Priced with non-original hardshell case.
