1968 Fender Telecaster Bass in Blonde finish just in!
The Telecaster Bass shares its DNA with the very first Precision Bass model that was introduced in 1951. With its slab-body design, single coil pickup, and Telecaster-like headstock shape, there was no denying its origin.
This first-year example is undoubtedly a player's bass, with lot of hardware and electronics changes over the years. Still, it retains most of the original Blonde finish underneath varying degrees of wear and touchup, and the neck's nitro lacquer has aged to perfection.
The original decal has been touched up with a paint marker, the pickguard replaced with a Chandler repro, and the pickup swapped out with a Seymour Duncan. Replaced knobs and pots along with various screws, etc. Even so, the bass punches like a 9lb hammer (or in this case, a 10.5lb hammer). The tone is fat and punchy, making it a great rock or blues bass.
It won't win you any beauty pageants, but this '68 Telecaster Bass will have your back at every gig and on every stage. It's a true workhorse instrument with over 50 years of experience to show.
Paired with a Mono M80 bass bag.
